Sewing Project – How to Make Homemade baby bibs
I recently became a grandmother for the first time and have been enjoying the new addition our little family. I am also a craftsman and an avid seamstress and often can be found in my sewing room craft and create some wonderful things for my friends and family.
With the new addition of the baby to our family, I decided I wanted to make some baby bibs homemade. I thought the process would be difficult, but once I started I have … I realized how easy it was to create my own bibs for our granddaughter.
Here are the sources you'll need:
A terry cloth bib before you buy to use as a pattern
1 package double fold bias tape (2 pack patio), by bib
sewing machine
sewing thread
1.4 yards of cotton terry
Scissors
Several sewing supplies
Note: If you really want to be frugal, you can recycle some old terry towels for this project.
Put your bib pre-purchased a piece of white paper and trace around the shape with a pencil, then cut the paper pattern. Then, unroll your bias tape and cut a piece of bias tape measures 34 "long. Pin your paper pattern side down on towel fabric and pin in place. Cut around the paper pattern and remove the pins. Cover and Pin diagonal belt in the raw edges of the sides and bottom of your bib, do not cover the neck area at the moment.
Using your sewing machine, sewing tape of bias in place and finish. . Cut another piece of ribbon approximately 26 cm diagonal long-Place the center of the bias tape to the neck center of the chin, the pin in place (Note:. A piece of bias tape about 10 cm long is left on both sides of the neck edge of the tie.) Using your sewing machine, sew around the opening neck to adhere and cover the raw edges.
You can use your being pre-purchased as a guide on how to be sewn.
Decorations: If desired, you can use 3 / 4 "wide lace eyelet tape instead of the bias in the first step of the seam, but you still have to use a coordinating color bias tape for white-collar area. You can embroider a name or a nice design on the front of the bib, or buy some nice iron fixtures.
